WEEK FOUR: Friday (two days late in posting)

 On Friday Miss Stephanie came and everyone learned a little Suzuki Music Vocal Technique. We even got to keep our straws and shakers.





We learned two different songs and we sang together. Here is the first song. Here is the second song. 

Miss Deb and Miss Steph went to High School together at Friendly Senior High in Fort Washington. They were both excited to work on something together for the first time! And they hope to make a habit of it. Miss Steph has a free youtube channel where anyone can learn anytime!


On Friday it was Zeph's Birthday!!

Our gorgeous lunch was sponsored by Olive On Main. The food was a hit!

After lunch, we spent some more time celebrating Zeph!






Miss Amy took over and Drama Club was wrapped for the fourth week!


Earlier that day, birdhouses were made. And we were already anxious to get back into costume and makeup!



Week five begins tomorrow! We are expecting all campers to attend this week. It's great to have everyone onboard as we build and perform a SHOW!!!

FIRST DAY OF CAMP!!

05 July 2021 DRAMA CLUB Today was so much fun!! Everyone was ready to jump right in and play. It usually takes a couple of days to warm up into things. We are brave and strong and talented! Today, we worked with Miss Deb, Miss Amy, and Jess at Drama Club. Students had already made tie-dyed shirts with Miss Paula and Miss Carol and there would be even more to do AFTER Drama Club too! We all introduced ourselves. We let each other know what our interests were and what we loved to do. We also automatically worked together as a team. We did a name dance.   After that, we talked about observation and journaling . And then we each got two different journals. A large one for our desktop work and a small one for on-the-road observations. We learned that theatre is really about experience, and experiencing.  Whattaday! Today we worked out the logistics of the final primary scene. We took a snack break and then we PAINTED THE STAGE! After lunch, we fortified our costumes and makeup. Tomorrow we rehearse rehearse rehearse! We'll see you tomorrow at Drama Club!

WEEK FIVE: That's a WRAP!

 We did it!! We had a great day. We began with Emmaline doing vocal warm-ups and Genevieve doing game warm-ups. The floor became lava and everything was fun.  So many supportive friends and family members came out! As well as mentors and volunteers. Between rehearsal and performance, we also were able to meet Miss Deb's dog, Ziggy! The weather was a little warmer today than it's been all week, but the breeze was so nice! After the show some family members found nice shade! Ledo's donated another pizza to our camp for lunch!! After lunch, we got into costume and makeup.  Rutiq and Sip at C Street Flats donated croissants and sandwiches and chips.  Thanks so much to our audience and to everyone who contributed to the 2021 Drama Club camp!
